Description

The two open clusters looks like they are close to each other, but in reality M35 is only 3000 ly from us and NGC2158 more than 11000 ly away. M35 is also much younger, about 200 million years, while NGC2168 is about 2 billion years old. This is also reflected by the much bluer stars in M35.  It is a beautiful pair of clusters in Gemini.
